Kishoreganj Government Women s College started its journey in 1969 with a great conviction of women s education. The unique dream of Kishoreganj, the unique visionary of women education in this area surrounded by a beautiful natural environment, has not been developed in one day. For this, there are many wise, senior and senior leaders, including the leadership of various leaders and workers of labor and sacrifice. Some of Kishoreganj s leading scholars and renowned personalities felt the first tension in the beginning of 1969 to develop a separate university for the higher education of women in this area. Following a series of discussions in the local public library, the then Sub-divisional Commissioner Mr. Rafiul Karim and the first-class Majestyate Mr. Ayub Ali were appointed as the editors and after starting various activities of the establishment of various sub-committees.
Mr. Mohammad Wasimuddin, the then Principal of Gaur Doval Government College, took over the responsibility as the Acting Principal of the founding personality Mr. Mohammad Wasimuddin on 01-08-69 AD. At the end of the symposium on 15-08-69 AD, the first formal class of Tin Leela was started in the current Government Model School with 62 (Basanti) students of the Humanities Department of higher secondary class.
After getting allotment of Government Khas land, from the Adarshan Shishu Vidyalaya, the college was established in 1972 by Honorable Industries Minister of the Government of the People s Republic of Bangladesh, Syed Nazrul Islam Islam 03rd. Formally laid the foundations of the current permanent campus in 1972.
Graduation passed from 1972-73 academic session and graduation honors courses were started from the 2004-2005 academic year. At present, there are more than 4000 (four thousand) students studying in the Traditional Institute.
